It looks, that the cloud base rises slowly and will be at 2000m at 1400.

At my report on 28.3. I have written, that the Enzo2 is homologated with slightly different line-lengh (B shorter). I have got this information from different persons. It has been based on the simple comparison from AT's measurements between the first and the second certification. But as the sold E2 is a different glider, it has to be realized, that this thinking is wrong. To find the exact facts, I did ask Joel Debons to compare the measurements done at Brazil to the measurements from AT after the certification of the sold Enzo2 (as you know, Joel did perform the glider checks during the Superfinal in Brazil and is therefor in possession of this data). The result shows at all 4 measured gliders from the Superfinal, that they would be Ok at a normal glider check during competitions. See attached sheets. We have to thank Joel, that he has done these comparisons! Folding lines ************** The new EN 926-2 has been published 13.11.2013. It is valid from 31.5.14. Until 31.5.14 both, the old and the new norm can be executed. There are more agreements (implementation rules) between testing houses and manufacturers as only the EN-norm. But for us the written norm is the minimum requirement - EN is written in the rules. That means, that the E2 is certified according to EN. Remark: I have no relationship to Ozone (I had to pay my M6...) and I do not spread this information with any purpose behind! My only interest is to find the correct facts for our competitions and pilots.

Dank ****** Gleitschirmklub Weissenstein Danke für die Möglichkeit, Start- und Landeplatz zu nutzen! Wo ich die Gebühren bezahlen darf, haben wir noch nicht herausgefunden - das wird aber noch :-) Fortbildungszentrum Herzlichen Dank an Frau Wiedmer, die am Freitag Morgen unkompliziert und zuvorkommend das nötige in die Wege leitete, obwohl das Fortbildungszentrum übers Wochenende zu war. Wir konnten in den sehr schönen, modernen Räumlichkeiten unser Headquarter einrichten, feine Spaghetti, top Frühstück und die extrem schönen Hotelzimmer zu ausgesprochen günstigen Konditionen geniessen. Postauto Flury An beiden Tagen wurden wir mit Spezialkursen von Herrn Flury zu den Startplätzen gefahren. Auch dies unkompliziert und perfekt im Timing - herzlichen Dank auch Ihnen. Samstag ********* Am Samstag waren wir im Jura am perfekten Ort. Nun gut, auch im Tessin wurden gute Flüge realisiert - wer aber geht bei Föhn ins Tessin... Die Bedingungen waren wie erwartet zuerst stabil, was aber auf dem Luv-Schenkel an der vorderen Jurakette keine Probleme gab. Beim zweite Schenkel zum Moron und zurück gings dann höher, so dass viele ins Ziel kamen. Sonntag ********* Der Grenchenberg war der optimale Startplatz für unsere 51 Piloten. Trotz Nordwind hatten wir netten Aufwind und kamen alle gut in die Luft. Leider wars aber viel stabiler als am Samstag, so dass 50% trotz hartem Kampf direkt am Boden standen. Eine Bemerkung vielleicht: Bei solchen Bedingungen nutzt es selten, wenn man "weiterfliegt". Normalerweise ist es am besten, wenn man "am besten Ort" konsequent um jeden Meter kämpft. Diejenigen, die es schafften hatten auf dem hinteren Schenkel (Moutier-Moron) extrem turbulente Bedingungen. Klar: Am Sonntag hätten wir in den Alpen fliegen sollen. Aber a) hat wohl niemand mit den schlechten Bedingungen gerechnet und b) ist spontanes zügeln umständlich und unbeliebt. So oder so: Gratulation denen, die es zu einigen km gebracht haben! Und Tage wei diese gibts eben beim Wettkampffliegen. Rankings *********** Marco Braun hat seinen Job zum ersten Mal gemacht. Klar, dass es da nicht reibungslos abgeht. Aber so oder so: Wir werden wahrscheinlich in Zukunft Online auswerten. Viele Piloten können ihr igc-File schon am Landeplatz hochladen. Die superprovisorische Rangliste ohne Formeln zeigt dann schon mal, ob der Flug gültig ist und in welcher Reihenfolge die Piloten gelandet sind. Nachteil ist, dass die Piloten noch schneller nach Hause fahren - wir werden mit obligatorischen Debriefings gegensteuern. Die Ranglisten (und alle Fotos) werden wir morgen veröffentlichen (Frist zum Hochladen des igc-Files von gestern läuft bis heute Abend). 63km: Start am Grenchenberg - B06 mit 6km Radius (ca Günsberg) - B13 Raimeux - B17 Moron - B10 Weissenstein - Goal in Oberdorf. Der Tag war a) stabiler und b) nordwindiger als erwartet. Zu a: Wer den kleinen Pump gleich vor dem Start nicht erwischt hat, kämpfte in der Inversion und... 50% des Feldes ist sozusagen direkt abgesoffen. Oben gings dann aber recht gut (ca zwischen 1300m und 1700m), jedenfalls so lange man oben bleiben konnte. Selbst später am Nachmittag blieben die Verhältnisse an der ersten Jurakette stabil. Auf der hinteren Jurakette gings bis 1900m. Zu b: Der Nordwind war stärker als erwartet. So standen an allen Startplätzen Schlangen von Piloten und warteten auf besseren Wind. Schaffte man aber den Sprung auf die hinteren Ketten, war der Nordwind ziemlich stark (20kmh) und die Thermik schleuderte die Piloten an ungewohnten Orten in die Höhe. Witschi spülte es irgendwo bald schon runter, andere gingen freiwillig landen. Markus Roschi verpasst die letzte Boje um 100m und auch Micha Sigel fliegt den Task beinahe fertig. Einzig Markus Wicki schafft das Ziel - herzliche Gratulation. Ranglisten und Fotos folgen.

50 pilotos and many guests met at this first Swiss League Cup in the Jura. B15 Vauffelin (Biel Pieterlen) - B10 Weissenstein - B17 Moron - B10 Weissenstein - Goal at Oberdorf. The first leg and back has been on the ridge - that was good, because of pretty low thermal top (1500m). But later in the day the termal top rised to 2000m, so that Goron and back has been nicely possible. Impressive to see, how the first leg already did pull the field in the length of several km. Obviously the EN-bolides could go almost straight, where other gliders did have to turn from time to time. The ranking will be published soon on this thread.

With a very high probability we go to Jura, Weissenstein. - Meeting point will be Oberdorf - Time will be defined tomorrow, probably 10:00 - I hope to be able to organize a Car or something to go up to the Take Off - probably we go to Micha Witschi in the evening and have a Pizza-Party Info about time and exact meeting point tomorrow noon.

Bei dicken Schneeflocken finden sich 10 Regio-League Members bei der Witschi AG ein. Wir widmen uns im theoretischen Teil dem Mikroklima und der Wettkampftaktik. Wir brennen uns den wichtigsten Satz zur McCready Theorie ein und gehen dann an unsere Notschirme... In den grossen Schulungsraum werfen...neu packen und fertig im Gurtzeug montiert in der Hoffnung den Griff nie im Ernstfall brauchen zu müssen.... Zum Schluss kommt das prognostizierte blaue Loch und wir werfen den Grill an und geniessen ein kleines Feldschlösschen zum Fleisch. Jetzt sind wir gewappnet für den nächsten Thermiktag mit interessanten Läufen.... irgendwie klappt das mit den hochgestellten fotos nicht so recht auf dieser seite... sorry

C'est de nouveau sur le weekend que tombe le mauvais temps... Vu la couverture nuageuse et les précipitations, la décision est assez facile pour la Suisse Romande. Pour ceux que ça intéresse, le cadre Jura fait un cours de théorie et des grillades dimanche. Bon weekend et à bientôt!

Wir treffen uns am Sonntag 23.3.14 um 11.00 an der Murgenthalstrasse 87 in Langenthal. Wir beginnen mit einem Theorieteil. Danach können wir entweder in Madiswil Westwindsoaren gehen oder wir machen ein Notschirmpacken. Zum Schluss kommt der sozial/kulinarische Abschluss: wie gewohnt werden wir noch was auf den Grill hauen.

Amici piloti, purtroppo il weekend dedicato alla miniliga viene annullato, abbondanti precipitazioni sono previste per tutti e due i giorni. Sto valutando l'opportunità di poter recuperare la data durante il primo weekend di aprile oppure sabato 19 aprile, secondo meteo e mia disponibilità, eventualmente seguirà un piccolo sondaggio per vedere quanti piloti sono interessati. In alternativa potremmo organizzare una data a maggio durante un giorno settimanale festivo. Nel frattempo non mi resta che aspettarvi alla prossima data ufficiale secondo l'agenda: 26 o 27 aprile.
