I love this sport! I have always had a love for aviation, I grew up loving aircraft and worked my way to college, graduating with a degree in aerospace engineering. My entire career has been focused on working on aircraft and in my personal life, attempting to fly as many as possible. However, it wasn't until I found paragliding that I found a true passion. I loved the sensation of soaring through the air on nothing but silence and the power of nature. I have fallen in love with this sport for the joy it brings me, the friends I have met and for the opportunities to travel and explore the world in a way I never knew possible.
Goals
Become a better cross country pilot and beat my current personal bests. I know that is the blanket statement but that resonates as true for me as well! I am also hoping to find a local community of pilots as we were really close with our flying friends before moving and hope to rebuild that here. We moved to Switzerland a year ago and after having reconstructive knee surgery (and not being able to fly initially), hoping to meet more local xc pilot friends and find a flying community once again. I have a lot to learn about how to fly in the alps as it is very different from what I learned to fly in California and I truly look forward to learning from more experienced pilots!
Successes
I had my first 100km+ flight this summer! Despite having just gone through reconstructive knee surgery last winter and getting back into the sport after an almost 2 year hiatus (between several job changes / moves and the knee surgery), I was able to come back this season and set a new personal best. I can't wait to keep pushing that next season!

Es ist eine Faszination, die mit Worten schwer zu fassen ist. Mir geht es um die fliegerische, körperliche, mentale und taktische Leistung aber vor allem um das Gefühl von Freiheit und Gegenwärtigkeit.

Difficult to describe this passion. I love to mountaineer, to climb mountains. I think the most elegant way to do it is by hike and fly, obviously followed by ski touring. To waste the energy of the ascent by walking down is something I don't like every since I can fly.
That only covers hike and fly with my mountain wing.

This year the experience was a little different, an injury in may forced me to stay on the ground till october. Therefore the focus shifted slightly and I decided to spend most of the summer on a boat, so I became a freshwater motorboat captain and I finally completed the tandem pilot education.

After gaining skills and experience with SIV trainings and flights, I upgraded to an EN-C glider and cocoon harness.
My first over 200km FAI triangle in Ticino/Switzerland. More over 100km flights and HF competitions like Eigertour and TrailFly Lenk. Ongoing tandem pilot education.
