Bonsoir ! Normalement nous n'avons pas de cadre prévu demain. Mais vu que tout le monde est certainement en manque, nous allons tenter le coup ! Je ne vous cache pas que les conditions sont limites... La bise est annoncée relativement forte (entre 10 et 20 noeuds à 2'000 suivant les modèles). Il faut donc un site bien protégé de la bise et qui permette quand même de faire quelques kils. Nous allons donc à Annecy. Le rendez-vous est fixé à 11heures à l'atterro de Talloires. Si la bise est trop forte, nous pouvons toujours nous rabattre sur Passy, qui est un site hyper protégé de la bise à 15minutes de voiture d'Annecy. Pour info nous n'allons pas directement à Passy car il n'est quasi possible que d'y faire du vol local. Ich hab gestern die Lage gespannt verfolgt und hatte schon Angst, dass wir einen Fehlentscheid gemacht hatten. Dem ist aber nicht so: Einziger erwähnenswerter Flug war also von Roland Mäder: http://www.xcontest.org/switzerland/de/fluge/details:maeder/5.5.2012/13:51 Er ist dem Hang entlang geschlichen zwischen Interlaken und Brienz. a) bis wir 40 Piloten in der Luft gehabt hätten, wärs schon zu spät gewesen... b) können wir dort im Frühling wegen dem Wildschutz keinen Wettkampf machen. Schon gar nicht unter Kretenhöhe. Roland flog ja kaum über der Waldgrenze. c) wären wir nicht dort hin. Gestern den richtigen Ort zu treffen wäre wie blindes Dart-Schiessen gewesen. Kleine Chance, zu treffen :-) Für einen Taks brauchts ein viel längeres Fenster. Wenn nur ein Pilot irgendwo fliegt, können wir noch lange keinen Task machen.Trotzdem Gratulation Roland - du hast es sicher genossen. Übrigens: Der eine oder andere hat sich vielleicht gefragt, warum es trotz Sonne nicht gleich hoch ging. Ein Grund war sicherlich, dass der Boden noch nass war und die Energie zum Verdunsten aufgewendet werden musste. Ein anderer wahrscheinlich, weil - wie so oft bei schnellem Aufreissen nach Regen - eine gewisse Sinkbewegung in der Luftmasse war. One model shows for Saturday a small, extremely small "Zwischenhoch" in the area Martigny to Interlaken. But we think, that the chance for a task (Crans Montana?, Frutigen?) is smaller as 10%. Probably clouds will cover the flight areas before a task could be started. Additionally we have some SW-wind in the Jura. Not a good spring... Martin

Normally we would cancel today... but as we did not have a task yet, not even an event, we really like to wait for tomorrow... Hope is the last to die.... But the chance for a task-able window is nearly zero... See you... Martin

Joël, Nanda, Hansjörg and I (Elie) were at the 2012 Mosel Open last weekend. Saturday and Sunday, the wather was unfortunately bad enough to prevent us from having tasks. Monday a task was finally set. But at the beginning there was no lift at all, because of the overcast sky and lack of wind. After a few long hours of waiting and bombing out, some pilots finally managed to stay in the air and soon the whole gaggle was struggling around the launch to remain airborne. Nobody made goal, but the best of the day, Simon Kirsch, flew 35 km. The best Swiss was Joël who ended 5th with 20km. Difficult conditions made this task very hard work for everyone, but it only gave 173 points to the winner... So everything remained open. Tuesday the weather looked a lot better. Before the first briefing, Bernd Weitzel took off for a warm up flight and found a bit of lift... AT LAST! Maybe we could have a good flight that day... The comittee set a 53km task downwind. It was a bit difficult to gain enough height over launch to fly towards the first turnpoint. Nanda, Hansjörg and I took a good start and managed to stay with the first gaggles until goal. Joël struggled to climb before the start and was still as low as the launch (100m over the flats) when the start gate opened. However he managed to get to cloud base a bit later. Having nothing to lose, he attacked as hard as he possibly could to catch up with the first groups... He entered the goal cylinder second and ranked 4th because of leading points ! In the end the swiss pilots made a good impression in the overall ranking : - Joël 3rd - Nanda 1st girl and 6th overall - Elie 12th - Hansjörg 13th See you soon !

Hi, Nanda, Hansjörg, Joël and I (Elie) decided to flee the fohen and come to a german comp : the Mosel Open. Yesterday was the first day and it was sunny, but we didn't have a task because of too stable air : everybody bombed out right under the launch ! After multiple launch changes, we ended up soaring above the race HQ =) Today the day has allready been canceled because of strong wind and a risk of rain, but the organizers think we have a chance of doing a bit of soaring in the afternoon. It seems tomorrow and tuesday will be better. Cross your fingers !

Bonsoir ! Je serai absent ce weekend, c'est donc Alvise qui se dévoue pour vous organiser un vol du cadre. Voici les infos qu'Alvise m'a transmis : D'après mes derniers aperçus météo, la tendance foehn semble confirmée bien que faible à modérée. Par contre un voile de cirrus viendra jouer à cache-cache avec le soleil, ce qui mettra un peu d'incertitude quant au choix du site idéal. Pour l'instant je reste ouvert sur les 2 possibilités Jurassiennes: -Vesancy -Mauborget Mon coeur balance très fortement pour Vesancy, même si cela complique nettement le covoiturage et les navettes. J'aimerais pouvoir confirmer par sms demain soir, mais a priori: Si Vesancy: RV à l'atterrissage de Gex à 11h15 (et pour ceux qui ne savent pas où c'est, le mieux est de me contacter). Pour ceux qui veulent participer à un covoiturage, RV 10h20 à la sortie d'autoroute Bussigny, au parking qui se trouve en face de la station BP Si Mauborget: RV à l'atterrissage à 11h30. Wie erwartet waren die Bedingungen in Fanas einigermassen. Ob es für einen Task gereicht hätte ist allerdings unklar - an der Basis auf 2700m war der SW Wind recht zügig, 25kmh. Michi Müller hat uns gezeigt, dass bei diesen Bedingungen das Glarnerland auch eine Alternative wäre :-). Und Cimetta war auch nicht so schlecht. Aber eben: Das Verhältniss von Anfahrt zu Task soll in jedem Fall in vernünftigem Ramen liegen.

After a lot of phone-calls, as well with weather-specialists as also with locals in Interlaken we decide to cancel this SLC again. Fanas is probably the best place to go on Saturday. But, as written, we can not choose this location for only one day. Probably it will be pretty good in the Tessin as well. At Interlaken we believe, that there will be thermals at 111 hours, it should climb up to 1700m, but very fast it will be overcasted with clouds. Additionally it will be a big problem on take-off site to bring 45 pilots in the air (many schools and free flyers). Next Swiss League Cup is planned on 5./6. may.

Den definitiven Durchführungsentscheid werden wir gegen 12 Uhr fällen.

As much luck we had last season, as bad luck we have this season: Saturday: In the nor-west we will have strong winds. During the night a frontal system will pass Switzerland. Sunday: Rain remains on the centra pre-alps and the east. Fanas: Best possibility would be Fanas (but only for local distance flying (no 100+km -triangle). Interlaken: The weather at Interlaken would be pretty good as well, cloud-base above 3000m, but at 2500m the prognosis gives us already 35km/h wind. Tessin: Saturday pretty good with possibility of a task, some showers in the late afternoon. But trough during the night (rain) and north-wind sunday (which will blow the clouds away). For one day we can not move to the far ends of Switzerland. Remains Interlaken as possibility. I would like to analyze the situation again tomorrow midday.

8 motivierte Piloten (Innen) widmeten sich eingehend der Sollfahrttheorie von McCready und danach dem Thema Wettkampftaktik. Bei einem Kaffe mit Räubergeschichten verdauten wir die Theorie und hoffen nun auf ein möglichst häufiges Anwenden in der Praxis.

Wenn's draussen regnet können wir uns der Theorie des Fliegens widmen ohne das Gefühl zu haben, etwas draussen zu verpassen. Gut fliegen ist zu 70% mentale Leistung....darum lohnt es sich, auch diesen Teil zwischendurch zu trainieren. Wir treffen uns morgen 14.4.12 um 09.30 im Schulungsraum der Witschi AG, Murgenthalstrasse 87, 4900 Langenthal. Thema: Streckenfliegen / Wettkampftaktik / Mc Cready Theorie

Bonsoir tout le monde ! Bon alors cette fois ça n'a au moins pas été une décision trop difficile à prendre : Si vous voulez voler il faudra clairement prévoir les palmes et le tuba ! Par conséquent c'est annulé pour ce weekend et je vous donne rendez-vous les 28 et 29 avril pour le prochain! Profitez bien de la neige... Leider meint es Petrus auch dieses Weekend nicht gut mit uns. Das sah vor einem Jahr ganz anders aus, am 15.4. kam das Hammerhoch und es wurden +200er FAI täglich geflogen. Leider hatten wir dieses Jahr kein Glück mit den Regiofliegen, das nächste offizielle Regiofliegen findet erst am 7./8. Juli statt. Falls möglich werde ich oder Toni aber bis dann noch Fliegen spontan ansagen und ab 5 Teilnehmer/innen durchführen. Gruss Dominik ...das schöne Flugwetter kommt bald!!!

Due to the weather forecast we cancel the competitions at easter. We believe, that flying is possible locally, probably even some small distances, but its not predictable where and when. Sunday we have 12 hp pressure difference N-S. Monday looks like the best day, but a cold-drop is moving from GB to Switzerland and can influence the weather again. Additionally we do not like to block your holiday planning for the hole period. Enjoy Easter ... and lets hope for some comp-flying soon. Martin

Am Samstag trafen wir uns in Grindelwald um wieder einmal zusammen zu fliegen. Alfredo, Beat, Thomas, Ruedi, Patrick, Lukas und Ich furen um 11 uhr auf die First. Das Regtherm meldete gutes Streckenflugwetter! Das Emagramm hat diesen Optimismus etwas gedämpft. Der Nordwest-wind würde jedoch vieleicht eine abendliche Soaringsession am Jungfraujoch erlauben. :-D So habe ich einen Task von der First zum Schilthorn zurück zur Boje Alpiglen (Bojenkarte SLC 11) und das Goal auf dem Lauberhorn. Nach dem Task könnten wir alle noch an das Jungfraujoch fliegen und etwas Soaren. Nach dem Start wurde schnell klar, dass die Thermik eher dem Emagramm entsprach als dem Regterm. Es Stieg zögerlich und etwas verblasen. So befanden sich einige schon früh tief im Lee. Gratulation an alle Piloten die sich ins Luv retten und wieder Aufsoaren konnten. Beim Luftstart waren Alfredo, Ruedi und Ich auf 2650m und zogen los Richtung Schattwald. Tiefe Basis und viel Gegenwind haben uns fast die Motivation geraubt… Nach dem 3. Versuch reichte es über die kleine Scheidegg in das Lauterbrunnenthal. Endlich konnten wir „richtige“ Schläuche mit 3-4 m/s ausdrehen. Schnell waren wir nach dem Schilthorn zurück an der Scheidegg. Der Wind hatte sich etwas gelegt und wir konnten gemächlich Höhe gewinnen. Nach der letzten Boje haben wir das offizielle Goal ausgelassen und sind in der Abendsonne an der Eigernordwand und dem Schreckhorn abgegleitet. Zurück bleiben schöne Eindrücke bei klarer Sicht aus allen Winkeln auf Eiger, Mönch und Jungfrau :-D Bis zum nächsten mal! Gruess Adi
