Freitag abgesagt, Samstag Task gecancelt wegen turbulenten Bedingungen vor dem Startplatz, Sonntag und Pfingstmontag schwierige Task im Vorland des Alpstein. Am Samstag kamen wegen grossen Abschattungen wenig Piloten ins Ziel, am Sonntag gings am schnellsten gerade durchs Flachland - Bedingungen, mit denen die Schweizer Alpenpiloten weniger gut umgehen können als die Deutschen Kollegen. Es war dann auch der junge Jurapilot Tim von Burg, der auf Rang 5 als bester Schweizer abschloss - wohl nicht zufällig. Das OGO 2024 darf in diesem Regen- und Föhn-Frühling als Erfolg bezeichnet werden, auch wenn nur zwei gültige Tasks geflogen werden konnten. Dank gebührt dem Veranstalter Dani Graf mit der FGA (dem ältesten Hängegleiter-Club der Schweiz), denen es gelungen ist mit relativ kleinem Aufwand einen sympathischen und hochstehenden Wettkampf zu organisieren.

Es war nicht einfach, aber die Bedingungen im Vorland des Alpsteins waren top. Etwas zyklisch, aber der Wind störte nicht stark, und ein paar Regentropfen an der Hundwiler Höhi wurden akzeptiert. Der Task wurde wieder kurz gewählt, gemäss Prognosen war schon am früheren Nachmittag Regen angesagt. Schon der Startschlauch war schwierig (total abgeschattet), vor dem Start ging es neben den Wolken bis 2000, viel nützte die Höhe aber nicht, weil der Wind oben stärker war. Die ersten realisierten aber zu spät, dass es heue im Schatten nicht überall ging, weswegen eine grosse Gruppe, der ganze Spitzenpulk, nach dem Kronberg abgesoffen ist. Gunsilius war weit voraus, machte aber (wie ich) den Fehler an die Hundwiler Höchi zu fliegen. Wir konnten uns nur knapp retten, Michael verhalf es zum Sieg. Die Verhältnisse schauten gut aus, aber der Seitenwind am Startplatz war manchmal grenzwertig stark und in der Luft gings ruppig hoch und runter. Der Task wurde schon bald nach window open gecancelt. Über 2000 waren die Verhältnisse top, und so flogen viele eine Weile herum, viele flogen sogar den Task und sprachen von guten Bedingungen.
