We have set a "easy" task along the ridge: Bettmeralp - Fischertal - Riederalp - Gluringen - Goal at Fiesch. But even "easy" has been difficult, because of weak thermals and cirrus coverage. But 7 from the 33 pilots made it to goal - all Boomis ... The slight difference in performance did make the big difference in the ranking. The first - and last - Swiss League Cup of this year has been a success. We have to be happy with the conditions, it is late September. We don't need next weekend as second reserve date. We will publish the final Swiss League ranking within the next days.

We will fly, all depends - again - on the cirrus development. But we will fly a task! Meeting point at the Cable Car Station at Fiesch: 10:40 Pilots at the Chavez-Party without a car: There are many cars, we will find a place for you to Fisch.

Some Cirrus make us waiting at the Restaurant with Briefing ant Task: Fieschertal - Riederalp - Gluringen - "Nessel" - Goal at Chavez-Party. As soon the Cirrus are gone, the thermals start to work - even in this really satble airmass. Morgenthaler makes a good tactical move: Early take off, as long the sun is on, because new cirrus are covering the sky. He climbs up to 2700m, followed by Jan Sterren. The field has to struggle around 2300m.... Unfortunately the cirrus stayed the hole day exactly above us (it has been because a lifting effect over the high mountains). But even with only 50% sun some pilots managed to get good hight at the tactically important points. Thermal top has been around 3100m. The wind has been very weak, 5-6 hp has not been any problem. It is autumn ... With the same prognosis flying in spring would be impossible. Attention: The ranking is very provisional! Sunday ********* We will have similar conditions. We can't complain, it is September... We will fly and land at Fiesch. The latest weather reports seems to be more or less the same as yesterday: We confirm the informations from yesterday evening. Important: We will meet for sure at the landing area at Brig, 9:45. But we are not 100% sure to go to Fiesch. Therefor: If you plan to meet us directly at Fiesch, you have to check this website again, tonight we will publish the take-off site.

Flugfest auf der Chavez-Wiese Landeplatz und Festgelände bei Raoul Geiger Gewerbestrasse 7, 3911 Ried-Brig (von A9 und direkt bei Tomi Sport parkieren) Günstiges Hotel Simplon 3-4 Gehminuten vom Landeplatz Reservation bei Raoul, 078 757 32 49 Zelten oder Übernachtung im Auto gratis Abendflüge sind möglich und organisiert Minibus oder Car: 9:45 Abfahrt bei Raul 10:15 ab Bhf Brig (10:11 kommen die Züge an) 10:45 hoffen wir auf Spezialfahrt mit der Bergbahn. Tasksetting und Briefing sollten relativ schnell gehen, so dass wir um 12 auf Galvera starten können. Das sollte früh genug sein für den Herbst. In Cari hat es etwa am Mittag bis 16 Uhr abgeschattet. Beat Walker konnte einen kleinen Flug realisieren, für einen Task wären die Bedingungen aber nicht gut genug gewesen.

Unfortunately a trough is arriving Satruday evening. Sunday will be rainy... But we have to try Saturday! It looks like "Cari" (Leventina) is a good spot. We will be able to take off at 2000m and thermals should be ok up to 3000m. Not a lot of wind. Samstag schaut ok aus - Sonntag leider im Moment nicht mehr so gut. Wir werden aber versuchen, jede Gelegenheit zu nutzen. Eventuell gehen wir am Samstag nach Cari im Nordtessin.
