Unfortunately we have to cancel the weekend. Why? For a Swiss Cup that does not take place "in the centre of Switzerland", "it is highly probable that 2 tasks can be flown. " This would probably be possible at Monte Lema. However, the forecasts for Sunday have worsened every day (see the three charts from XC-Therm: it is the forecast from today, yesterday and the day before yesterday, always for Sunday in Sotto Ceneri). At most, a mini-task would probably be possible on Sunday. Many of us would have had a journey of 4 hours or more (possibly with long traffic jams), which is why a single good task (plus possibly a mini-task) does not justify the announcement of the event. The Swiss Cup Cimetta takes place next weekend. Let's hope for good weather!

Swiss Cup Frutigen: Abgesagt. Swiss Cup flex wahrscheinlich im Tessin, Monte Lema METEO Am Freitag viel Regen auf der Alpennordseite. Der Regen zieht wohl nach Osten ab, aber dennoch bleiben die Böden sehr nass. Am Wochenende liegen wir unter einem Höhentief und es wird aus Norden weiterhin schubweise feuchte Luft zur Alpennordseite geführt. Frutigen Am Samstag tagsüber trocken, aber in mehreren Schichten bewölkt. Mit der Einstrahlung ein wenig Thermik, aber sehr tiefe Basis (1800). Relativ schwache Winde aus nördlicher Richtung. Am Sonntag tiefe und mittelhohe Bewölkung und am Nachmittag verbreitet CU mit Schauer wahrscheinlich. Basis wieder tief (1800). Relativ schwache Winde aus nördlicher Richtung. Verbier / Wallis Am Samstag tagsüber aufgelockerte Bewölkung und am Nachmittag thermisch aktiv mit Basis 2200. Wind aus Sektor Nord. Ev. könnte ein kleiner Task geflogen werden. Am Sonntag mittelhohe Bewölkung (14h 5-6000m, sinkend), schwache-mässige Thermik, verbreitet Cu mit Basis 2500 (am Nachmittag sinkend (!?)). Wind aus Sektor Nord, zügige Talwinde. Im Laufe des Nachmittags Schauer wahrscheinlich. Tessin Am Samstag gute Flugbedingungen mit Basis 2800-3000. Schwache Winde aus südlicher Richtung, in der Höhe West. Am Sonntag mittelhohe Wolken, Basis 2000, ev. vereinzelt Schauer. Schwacher Wind, ob 2000 ev. aus Nord. DURCHFÜHRUNG Swiss Cup Frutigen ist abgesagt. In Verbier könnte wahrscheinlich zwei Läufe geflogen werden, aber nur lokal. Im Tessin haben wir die Chance auf zwei gute Läufe. Wir sind uns der Verkehrssituation bewusst. Dennoch versuchen wir den Swiss Cup im Tessin, Monte Lema, durchzuführen. PS: Wir haben dort einen Parking für die Benützung mit Minibus. Swiss Cup flex probably in Ticino, Monte Lema METEO Lots of rain on the northern side of the Alps on Friday. The rain will probably move eastwards, but the ground will remain very wet. At the weekend, we'll be under a high-altitude low and moist air will continue to be brought to the northern side of the Alps in batches from the north. Frutigen Dry during the day on Saturday, but cloudy in different layers. Some thermals with radiation, but very low base (1800). Relatively weak winds from the north. On Sunday, low and medium cloud cover and widespread CU with showers likely in the afternoon. Base low again (1800). Relatively weak winds from the north. Verbier / Valais During the day on Saturday, clear clouds and thermally active in the afternoon with a base of 2200. Wind from sector north. Possibly a small task could be flown. On Sunday medium cloud cover (14h 5-6000m, sinking), weak-moderate thermals, widespread Cu with base 2500 (sinking (!?) in the afternoon). Wind from sector north, brisk valley winds. Showers likely during the afternoon. Ticino Good flying conditions on Saturday with a base of 2800-3000, weak winds from the south, westerly at higher altitudes. On Sunday, medium-high clouds, base 2000, possibly scattered showers. Weak wind, above 2000 possibly from the north. EXECUTION Swiss Cup Frutigen has been cancelled. Two runs could probably be flown in Verbier, but only locally. In Ticino we have the chance of two good runs. We are aware of the traffic situation. Nevertheless, we are trying to organise the Swiss Cup in Ticino, Monte Lema. PS: Wir haben dort einen Parking für die Benützung mit Minibus. The final decision will be made tomorrow morning.

Samstag Alpennordseite Freitag viel Niederschlag, Samstag Restbewölkung, lokal noch letzte Niederschläge. Sehr viel Feuchtigkeit im Boden. Dann aber Einstrahlung und Übergang zu Quellbewölkung - leider mit Ausbreitungen. Am Nachmittag viele Wolken in verschiedenen Schichten. Der Wind kommt aus nördlicher Richtung, die Stärke dürfte nicht stören. Sonntag Schnelles «Aufkochen» der feuchten Atmosphäre, viele Quellwolken und wahrscheinlich Niederschlag. Wind: Wie Samstag Verbier ist nicht viel besser. Im Tessin (Sottoceneri) dürfte es gut sein, der Nordwind könnte aber eventuell einen Start verunmöglichen (unten Talwind, aber oberhalb 1500m hat es Nordwindtendenz (genauer: Samstag Nachmittag 5-10 kmh West). Positiv ist auch, dass es am Freitag viel weniger geregnet hat. Selektionen: Am Monte Lema könnten alle teilnehmen. **************************************** Saturday North of the Alps Friday a lot of precipitation, Saturday residual clouds, locally still last precipitation. A lot of moisture in the ground. But then radiation and transition to cumulus clouds - unfortunately with spreading. In the afternoon, many clouds in different layers. The wind will come from the north, the strength should not be a problem. Sunday Rapid "boiling up" of the humid atmosphere, many Cumulus clouds and probably precipitation. Wind: Like Saturday Verbier is not much better. In Ticino (Sottoceneri) it should be good, but the north wind could possibly make a start impossible (valley wind below, but above 1500m it has a north wind tendency (more precisely: Saturday afternoon 5-10 kmh west). Another positive aspect is that it rained much less on Friday. Selections: Everyone could take part at Monte Lema.
