Wie in meinem letzen Kommentar geschrieben, haben die Tasksetter beim Task von vorgestern die Departure- und Arrival Points „ ausgeschaltet“. Dies wurde am Briefing bekannt gegeben.

Wer GAP 2000 kennt, weiß, dass dies nicht vorgesehen ist. Es ist auch nur möglich, wenn zum Auswerten das Programm Race 2003 verwendet wird. Dieses aber zieht diese „Early Bird Punkte“ ganz einfach von den Maximalpunkten des Siegers (in dem Fall 1000) ab.

Wer das kennt, rechnet mit einem Lauf von maximal rund 850 Punkten. Die Organisatoren waren sich dessen aber nicht bewußt. Nachdem auch noch ein Complaint der führenden Nationen (England auf Rang 2) eingegangen war, bastelten sie eine Modifikation für das Programm, die den Lauf auf 1000 Punkte hochrechnete.

Unserer (diverse Nationen) Ansicht nach ist das klar ein Verstoß gegen die Regeln. Der Complaint von Italien und der Schweiz unten dran. Er wurde von God Godfrey und den FAI Stuarts (vor allem Scott Torkelson) abgelehnt, die Italiener reichten daraufhin Protest ein.

Der Ausgang desselben ist jetzt von 3 Jurymitgliedern abhängig. Eins davon ( Agust Gudmundsson) hat die gebastelte Modifikation programmiert.

Ich weiß, ist alles ziemlich technisch...

We are against the Fact, that the Program GAP 2000 or Race 2003 has been changed.


In the Local Regulations is stated:

9.1. For scoring the Race 2003 scoring program will be used and scoring formula will be GAP
2000. The flight verification software will be CompeGPS.

1) The Programs cannot be changed or modified, because it is not written in the local Regulations.

2) Knowledge from the Teamleaders and Tactics of the Pilots

Some Countrys and Teamleaders use GAP 2000 in Combination with Race 2003 at home or did make a lot of simulations to get e good knowledge of it in Order to find the best Tactics for the Pilots.

After the Task Briefing these Teamleaders and Pilots did know, that the Task wil be valid without the Departure- and Arrivalpoints, that are normally 130 – 160 Points.

3) The Combination of GAP 2000 with Race 2003 is not a common Combination. But it is possible to use this Combination and it is possible to get Simulations and Results. It is not necessary to modify these Programms.


In our opinion it is absolutely not possible to change the Programs GAP 2000 and Race 2003 retrospective.

At least it has to be announced and discussed during a Teamleaderbriefing.
