Friday - Day 6: At least we tried....

The wind was still coming from north west today, so the organizers decided to move everyone to King Mountain for a "60km-late-afternoon-task".
We took off at around 5.15pm and some of us quickly managed to reach 4000m to be well positioned for the start. Up there, the conditions were really smooth and we were just cruising around waiting for the start.
But it seems not everyone had the same lovely condition as the ones who were still at the altitude of the
launch experienced unexpected north wind which put the take off in the lee. So, the organizers took the right decision and they canceled the task as some pilots were low and flying backward due to strong wind.
When I heard that in the radio, I thought someone was making a joke as the conditions at the top were so smooth!!!!!
One more and last chance tomorrow to further discover the beauty of Idaho from the air.
Cheers,
Reynald
