French Open in Passy, a new site for me, so I thought, let's register and get to know the area. Today I drove from Switzerland to Passy, only a 4-hour drive from Winterthur.

The drive was painless, and the campsite is right next to the launch site. The view is amazing, and the take-off area couldn't be better. There is a big tent at the take-off where we will have concerts, food, and beers for the next six days. When I checked the weather forecast, it looked like there might be more partying than flying, but let's hope I'm wrong.

Registration was quick and easy, and I received a couple of nice things (see the photo). After that, we took the buses to the nearby cinema for the briefing. The briefing was a bit long, and my French needs a lot of improvement!

The weather forecast for tomorrow looks rather bad, but they all say it is a "magical" place, so maybe we'll have a short task.

French Open in Passy, ein neuer Ort für mich, also dachte ich, anmelden und eine neue Gegend kennenlernen. Heute bin ich von der Schweiz nach Passy gefahren, eine nur vierstündige Fahrt von Winterthur.

Die Fahrt war problemlos, und der Campingplatz liegt direkt neben dem Startplatz. Die Aussicht ist atemberaubend, und der Startbereich könnte nicht besser sein. Es gibt ein großes Festzelt am Startplatz, in dem wir die nächsten sechs Tage Konzerte, Essen und Bier genießen. Es sieht so aus, als ob es mehr Partys als Flüge geben könnte, aber hoffen wir, dass ich mich irre.

Die Registrierung war schnell und einfach, und ich habe ein paar schöne Dinge erhalten (siehe Foto). Danach fuhren wir mit den Bussen ins nahegelegene Kino zum Briefing. Es war etwas lang, da einige eingeschlafen sind, und mein Französisch braucht definitiv eine große Auffrischung!

Die Wettervorhersage für morgen sieht ziemlich schlecht aus, aber alle sagen, es sei ein "magischer" Ort, also haben wir vielleicht einen kurzen Task.
