In Diskussion war ein 50-km-Task ohne Melchtal und dieser 65-km-Task mit Melchtal. Schlussendlich entschied sich das Kollegium des Tasksetterteams für die längere Variante - der Tag sah zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch gut aus. Die Basis sank aber mit der einfliessenden Bise, der Wind war unangenehm spürbar und die Thermik stark. so dass der Task schwierig wurde und wegen zu starken Bedingungen um 14:36 gestoppt wurde. Die meisten Pilot*innen flogen dann aber doch noch zurück nach Engelberg. Den Task gewonnen haben Daniel Tyrkas, Philipp Haag und Christian Schugg, alle aus Deutschland, Julia Jauss (D) die Damen- , Patrick von Wyl die Sport- und Christian Schugg die Junioren-Klasse. Die Sieger des Alpencup sind Overall: Stephan Morgenthaler Philipp Haag, D Dominik Breitinger Michi Maurer Daniel Tyrkas, D Damen: Nanda Walliser Julia Jauss, D Martina Hauri Sport: Benjamin Fankhauser Fabian Itin Patrick von Wyl Junioren: Christian Schugg, D Samuel Tanner, D Pablo Truffat, D Trotz schwieriger Wetterbedingungen (an den meisten Tagen hat die Bise die Basis tiefer und die Bedingungen schlechter gemacht als prognostiziert) konnten 3 gültige Task geflogen werden. Überschattet wurde der Anlass aber leider von 4 Unfällen, 3 davon wegen Kabeln. Dank gebührt dem organisierenden Klub, welcher eine sehr gute und sympathische Infrastruktur zur Verfügung stelle. Und den Sponsoren, die einen solchen Anlass erst ermöglichen.

Es war feuchter als gehofft, die Basis blieb tief. Das Briefing wurde von 10:30 um eine Stunde, und dann nochmals auf 12:45 verschoben. Schlussendlich wurde ein Task gesetzt, mit der klaren Prämisse, dass die Basis in Engelberg mindestens 2300 und «unten» mindestens 2100 ist. Tiefer wollte das Tasksetterteam die 130 Pilot*innen nicht los schicken. Task 36 km, Start um 13:45, Airstart um 15 Uhr. Viel Schatten, ein paar Tropfen, aber am Hahnen gings prächtig und sanft hoch. Nur die Basis stieg nicht über 2150. Ich flog Rekognoszieren und "parkte" am Wellenberg (Basis am Haldi 2000), diskutierte mit den Tasksettern, Guido war in Wolfenschiessen. Der Entscheid war schwierig, aber wir hatten beim Tasksetting definiert und am Briefing klar kommuniziert, dass wir den Task nur machen, wenn die Basis die minimalen Höhen erreicht. Und ja, fast alleine wars Ok - aber für 100 wärs nicht gut gewesen. Zudem war der Wind spürbar stärker als gedacht und die Luft erstaunlich turbulent. Morgen sollte es trockener sein! Wir hoffen auf einen dritten Task! ******************************* It was wetter than hoped, the base remained low. The briefing was postponed from 10:30 by an hour, and then again to 12:45. Finally, a task was set with the clear premise that the base in Engelberg was at least 2300 and "below" at least 2100. The task-setting team did not want to send the 130 pilots lower. The decision was difficult, but we had defined in the task setting and clearly communicated in the briefing that we would only do the task if the base reached the minimum altitudes. And yes, almost alone was OK - but it wouldn't have been good for 100. In addition, the wind was noticeably stronger than expected and the air was surprisingly turbulent. Tomorrow it should be drier! Bewölkung: Am Vormittag rasche Auflockerung der Restwolken und Bildung von - 2-4/8 mit Basis 2300 m (Stans) - Engelberg um 2700 m Am Nachmittag lokale Schauer. Maessige Sicht. Den Start müssen wir so legen, dass wir trocken in den unteren Teil des Tals fliegen können. Ich schlage deswegen vor, dass wir das Briefing wie geplant um 10:30 machen und allenfalls oben 1/2 bis 1 Stunde warten. Titliis - Risti - Titlis - Meiringen - Stanserhorn - Storeggpass - Büelen und zurück nach Engelberg. Die Bise hat die Bedingungen unangenehm gemacht. Irgendwie "zickig" und es hatte grosse Spülgänge vom Nordostwind. Der Spitzenpulk kann am Titlis hoch in Richtung Meiringen abfliegen (und kommt dort gerade richtig an der viel tieferen Basis an), alle andern versuchen mühsam an der Titlisflanke Höhe zu machen, was aber nicht zuletzt wegen dem Gedränge misslingt. So müssen sie wohl oder übel den Umweg über den Storeggpass in Kauf nehmen. Der Rest des Taskes ist relativ einfach, berichtet wird aber doch von mühsamen Verhältnissen. 120 Pilot*innen aus den 5 Alpenländern Slowenien, Italien, Österreich, Deutschland und der Schweiz sind am Start dieses ersten Alpencup, der in der Schweiz ausgetragen wird. Die Wetterbedingungen an den 4 Wettkampftagen bis Sonntag sind durch eine Flachdrucklage bestimmt, bei der Tagesgangwetter mit Schauern am Nachmittag angesagt Ist. Heute regnete es allerdings schon vor dem Airstart. Ansonsten waren die Bedingungen aber fein. Trotz Regen und Schatten schaffen den 60 km Kurs 82 der 133 Teilnehmer. Am schnellsten war Stephan Morgenthaler aus Staffelbach, gefolgt von Philipp Haag, D, und Alfredo Studer, Eggenwil. Bei den Damen gewinnt Nanda Walliser, Leissigen, vor Julia Jauss, D, in der Sportklasse Hryshunin Yevhen, St-Sulpice VD, und bei den Junioren Samuel Tanner aus Deutschland.

Hingegen wird mit dem Südwestwind die mittelhohe Bewölkung herangeführt.

Oder z.B. ein CB im Wallis produziert Cirren in Engelberg, weswegen die Entwicklung von hohen CU (TCU, Towering Cumulus) gehemmt wird…). Wir versuchen es dennoch mit einer Detailprognose: Donnerstag Wir erwarten Abschwemmungen von einer Warmfront > ev. Zirrenfelder Gute Thermik und Basis über 3000 In der Nacht ist ein kleiner Trog in der Höhe prognostiziert. Frreitag Verstärkte Tendenz zu Überentwicklungen CB im Tagesgang, aber vor allem im Osten, Engelberg könnte Glück haben Höhentief zieht aufs Wochenende ab Samstag und Sonntag Tagesgangwetter Isolierte TCU, Abschattungen und deswegen wahrscheinlich keine CB WIND Fast sicher ist, dass es im ganzen Zeitraum des Alpencup relativ wenig Wind hat. ZUSAMMENFASSUNG Aktuell können wir mit 3-4 mittelguten bis guten Task rechnen. Aber eben: Die flache Druckverteilung lässt keine definitive Prognose zu.

The first selection round is final. See the link to the corresponding pdf and also the actually selected pilots on the website. On Tuesday, we will send an invoice for CHF 30 to the selected pilots. This is the amount that would not be refunded if the competition is cancelled (CHF 25 plus bank charges). The pilots will then have until Monday, 3.4. to pay. On Tuesday, 4.4. we will delete all those who have not paid and make the second selection round. Pilots who register again afterwards, as well as all other pilots who still register, will pay a late registration fee (CHF 50 - as at the PWC).
